Paint Your Own Vase Workshop
Paint Your Own Vase Workshop
May 8th | 6:30–8:30 PM
Step into a slow, creative evening at Field Co as we gather around the simple joy of making something by hand.
In this workshop, you’ll choose a vase that speaks to you from four thoughtfully selected styles—each one a blank canvas ready to become uniquely yours. From there, you’ll design and paint your piece however you’d like. Whether you lean toward clean and minimal or bold and expressive, this is your space to explore.
Stencils and guidance will be available to help bring your vision to life, making this workshop approachable for beginners and inspiring for seasoned creatives alike.
Each vase is pre-sealed and waterproofed on the inside, so when you’re finished, you’ll leave with a fully functional piece—ready to hold fresh flowers, brighten a space, or serve as a reminder of an evening well spent.
All supplies are provided—just come as you are.
This workshop is led by guest artist Kennedi Branigan, owner of Kennedi’s Pottery Shop in Elmwood, Nebraska. Through her storefront and mobile workshops, Kennedi is passionate about helping others experience the joy and satisfaction of creating something tangible by hand.
Paint Night at the Orchard
Paint Night at the Orchard - Field Co. Pop Up
Step into a slower, more intentional evening of creativity.
Join Field Co. Creative for a guided paint night at Ditmars Orchard, where art becomes less about perfection and more about presence. In this workshop, you’ll be led step-by-step through creating “Among the Poppies” using acrylic paint — but more importantly, you’ll be invited into a space to unwind, try something new, and reconnect with your creativity.
This is for you if:
You’ve never painted before but have always wanted to try
You’re craving a creative night that feels low-pressure and welcoming
You want to spend time with friends, or come solo and meet others
At Field Co., we believe creativity is for everyone — not just artists. Whether you come confident or curious, you’ll leave with something meaningful: a finished painting and the reminder that you’re capable of creating.
What’s included:
All painting supplies
Step-by-step instruction
A relaxed, encouraging environment
The orchard kitchen will be open until 7:30pm, so come early, grab a drink or snack, and settle in before we begin.
✨ No experience needed
✨ All ages welcome
Come as you are, and leave with something you’re proud of — both on the canvas and beyond.
Ukulele for Beginners: First Chords and Strums
Ukulele for Beginners: First Chords and Strums
Come spend an easy, creative morning at Field Co learning the basics of ukulele—no experience needed.
This beginner-friendly session is designed to help you feel comfortable holding, tuning, and playing your first chords. By the end of the night, you’ll be strumming along to a simple song with the group.
We’ll keep it relaxed, encouraging, and a little bit playful, more like a creative gathering than a formal class.
We have 12 seats available to keep things personal and hands-on.
Don’t have a ukulele yet? No problem—6 loaner instruments are available if you’d like to try it out before purchasing your own.
(Loaner ukes are available as first come, first serve. Please indicate whether you’re interested in the form at checkout)
Come as you are, bring a friend if you’d like, and leave knowing you can actually play.
Letters Worth Sending: Handmade Card Workshop (Registration Closed)
Letters Worth Sending: Handmade Card Workshop
Saturday, April 25th
We’re bringing J Diane back to Field Co for another day of slow, thoughtful creativity—this time centered around something simple, but often overlooked: sending a handwritten note.
In a world of quick texts and notifications, there’s something meaningful about taking the time to create and send something by hand. This workshop is an invitation to step into that.
You’ll be guided through designing and creating your own handmade cards using a variety of materials, textures, and techniques—no experience needed. Whether you’re making something for a friend, a family member, or just because, you’ll leave with pieces that feel personal and worth sending.
This isn’t about perfection. It’s about making something honest, tangible, and a little more human.
Come on your own or bring a friend—either way, you’ll have space to slow down, create, and maybe even reconnect with someone through what you make.
All materials are provided.
Spots are limited to keep the experience relaxed and intentional.
Registration Closed

Pull up a chair, tune up your strings, and let’s make some music!
Whether you’re a seasoned picker or just learned your first three chords, join us at the Council Bluffs Public Library for a relaxed, acoustic jam session. This isn’t a performance—it’s a chance for us to gather, play, and sing through a collection of familiar favorites together.
Bring your instrument of choice:
🎸 Guitars
🪕 Banjos
🎶 Ukuleles
🎻 Mandolins
(Any acoustic instrument is welcome!)
We’ll provide the song sheets (lyrics and chords); you provide the rhythm. It’s all about the joy of making music in good company. No pressure, no stage fright—just a room full of neighbors sharing a song.
Scribble Society
Scribble Society - Monday 8:00 am - 10:00 am
Scribble Society is a gentle, welcoming Monday morning gathering for anyone who craves creative rhythm, reflection, and meaningful connection to start their week. This is not about making “good” art — it’s about showing up, slowing down, and letting your thoughts move freely through pen, pencil, paint, or collage.
Each session offers a calm, supportive space to journal, sketch, scribble, or experiment at your own pace. Light prompts are provided to help you get started, but you’re always free to follow your intuition. Some mornings may include quiet making, others soft conversation — all are grounded in presence and encouragement.
Come as you are. Bring your coffee, your notebook, your curiosity. Scribble Society is for adults who want to begin their week creatively, intentionally, and in community.
No experience required. All materials welcome.
Whimsical Woods Workshop: DIY Bird Feeder
Whimsical Woods Workshop at Field Co
Birds of a feather paint together.
Join us for a cozy Saturday morning in the studio as we gather around the table to paint wonderfully whimsical ceramic birdfeeders. Each piece is wheel-thrown and delightfully asymmetric, full of charm and ready for your imagination to bring it to life.
At Field Co, we believe creativity grows best in good company. You’ll choose your own one-of-a-kind birdfeeder and spend the morning painting alongside fellow makers while instructor Marla Schoening guides us through glaze techniques, color layering, and playful embellishments to make your piece truly personal. Whether you’re creating something special for your own garden or a heartfelt gift, this workshop is all about slowing down, making something beautiful, and enjoying the process together.
Because we’re using professional ceramic glazes, your finished birdfeeders will stay behind after the workshop for a trip through the kiln. Once fired, they’ll emerge with a glossy, weather-proof finish—ready to make their debut in your garden.

Community Workshop: Linocut Printmaking
Throughout the year, Field Co hosts a handful of intimate gatherings just for the Friends of Field Co. community—simple, creative nights where we slow down, make something with our hands, and enjoy being together. These events are offered free of charge as a way to say thank you for being part of the Field Co story.
Our next gathering invites you to explore the timeless art of linocut printmaking.
During this hands-on evening, you’ll experiment with carving your own designs into soft rubber blocks and bringing them to life with ink on paper. Whether you create abstract textures, simple symbols, or small illustrations, the beauty of linocut is in the process—slow carving, inky hands, and the surprise of each print pulled from the press.
No experience is necessary. All materials will be provided, and the atmosphere will be relaxed, collaborative, and welcoming.
Come spend an evening with fellow creatives, try something new, and leave with a few handmade prints of your own.
